Waxi southern red agate, a material prized for its dense, even colour, worked into a fine strand and hung with a single large bead pendant. The pendant is the whole point: one stone, no setting, held by a gold-tone cap and a hand-tied knot.
Wearing one bead rather than many is an older way of doing it — the stone is meant to be looked at, not counted.
Materials: fine southern red agate strand, single large Waxi agate pendant, gold-tone plated cap and fittings.
Care: agate is hard but brittle. Store it flat, not hanging, so the cord does not stretch.
Strung and knotted by hand in Ganzhou, China.
