Four strands of 6mm southern red agate gathered at a carved agate pendant, with a yellow beeswax drop, a turquoise bead and a small jade disc hanging from the tail. Four loops is a familiar way to carry a mala — the strands wrap the wrist several times and the pendant comes to rest at the centre.
Southern red agate is the warmest of the agates: orange-red rather than crimson, and slightly translucent at the edges of each bead.
Materials: 6mm southern red agate, carved agate pendant, beeswax, turquoise and jade accents.
Care: agate is hard but brittle. Take it off before the gym and store it flat so the loops keep their shape.
Strung and knotted by hand in Ganzhou, China.
