Old beeswax in a deep honeyed yellow, finished with a Tibetan-style silver buckle inlaid with turquoise and coral, and a blood amber drop at the tail.
The beads are irregular barrel shapes rather than spheres — that is what old beeswax looks like, and no two are formed alike. The buckle is the centre of the piece: silver, turquoise and coral is a combination from the Tibetan plateau, where all three were traded for centuries.
Materials: barrel beeswax beads, blood amber drop, Tibetan-style silver buckle inlaid with turquoise and coral.
Care: beeswax scratches easily and darkens in strong sun. Keep it away from perfume and heat, and store it flat.
Strung and knotted by hand in Ganzhou, China.
