Build your own bracelet: how the design studio actually works

45 beads in the library, prices per bead, a live wrist-fit reading and a two-step checkout. What actually happens between opening the studio and the bracelet leaving the bench.

Most jewellery sites have already made the decisions before you arrive. A bracelet is photographed, priced, described, and you choose between the versions someone else assembled. Our design studio works the other way round: the bracelet does not exist until you build it.

The tray, the cord, the hand. Everything after this point is your decision.

One library, no fixed combinations

The studio opens with 45 beads in the library, sorted by material family: quartz, agate, beryl, feldspar, natural crystal, pendants and spacers. Each one is a real stock item with a real price per piece — a natural amazonite bead at 10mm is $2.80, a red hematoid quartz bead at 14mm is $3.20. Nothing is bundled into a fixed bracelet price, because nothing has been decided for you.

Beads come in 10mm, 12mm, 14mm and 16mm. Mixing sizes is the fastest way to keep a strand from reading as one flat band of colour: a run of 8mm rounds broken by a single 14mm focal bead gives the eye somewhere to land.

The price moves with the design

The total updates bead by bead as you place them, and it stops updating when you stop adding. That matters more than it sounds: with made-to-order jewellery, the finished cost is usually a surprise revealed after a design is approved. Here the number is on screen the whole time, next to the wrist-fit reading, so you are choosing against a budget you can see.

Spacers do the work nobody notices

Gold-tone spacers, filigree and small crystal accents are cheap per piece and change a strand disproportionately. Two spacers either side of a focal bead frame it; a single spacer between stone changes keeps a red-to-black transition from looking accidental. On metal allergy: tell us before you order, because some spacers and clasps are plated and may not suit highly sensitive skin.

Then it leaves the screen

Confirming a design does not trigger a warehouse pick. It produces a build sheet, and a person lays those exact beads out of a compartment tray, threads them, sets the knots and tests the tension. Production takes 3 to 5 working days. If a bead you chose turns out to be out of stock we contact you first with a close alternative of the same stone, size and price — we do not substitute silently.

Open the design studio and place the first bead. It costs nothing to look.
